Boston Runtz is a balanced hybrid cannabis strain from the breeder LIT Farms, a cross of Boston Cream Pie and Runtz. It takes its name from the dessert parent, not the city, although Massachusetts is where it is easiest to find, usually as a numbered cut called Boston Runtz #5.

Where Boston Runtz comes from
Boston Runtz is a LIT Farms release, sold as feminized seed through seed banks such as Neptune Seed Bank. The seed listing, Weedmaps and the Massachusetts retail listings for Sira Naturals all give the same cross: Boston Cream Pie and Runtz. Runtz itself is Zkittlez crossed with Gelato.
There is one dissenting listing. A Cambridge, Massachusetts retailer describes its Boston Runtz #5 as Runtz crossed with Georgia Pie. It is a single source against several, so the Boston Cream Pie version is the one to trust unless your grower says otherwise.
The numbers you see on jars, #5 and occasionally #3, are phenotype numbers: individual plants a grower selected from seed. Sira Naturals spells its cut Boston Rntz #5.
Aroma and flavor
Weedmaps describes ripe berry, cream and cherry, with a hit of gas when the jar is opened. Maryland Leaf, reviewing a Boston Runtz concentrate in 2026, found vanilla, cream, berry and citrus. That fits the parents: a dessert strain crossed with a candy strain.

THC and what to expect
AllBud lists Boston Runtz at 22% to 23% THC. One 14-gram batch of Boston Runtz #5 on a Massachusetts menu was labeled 24.6%. Weedmaps gives no figure.
User write-ups on Weedmaps describe an uplifting, euphoric start that settles into relaxation, and the Maryland Leaf reviewer noted a calming body effect.
