Where Solomon Grundy comes from

The breeder is not in dispute. SeedFinder, Leafly and the licensed retailers that sell the strain all credit Dark Horse Genetics, and SeedFinder, Trulieve and Weedmaps give the cross as Bruce Banner #3 and MAC. Some pages drop the “#3” and write MAC x Bruce Banner; it is the same pair of parents.

That is a potent family. Bruce Banner is Dark Horse’s own best-known strain, and MAC, short for Miracle Alien Cookies, is a widely used breeding parent. SeedFinder notes Solomon Grundy was never released as feminized seed.

It shares its name with an English nursery rhyme and the DC Comics villain named after it.

Aroma and flavor

Trulieve describes its flower as “sharp gas and earthy spice” with a creamy, herbal funk. Leafly’s flavor tags are blue cheese, diesel and lemon. AllBud lists citrus, diesel, skunk and spice.

Leafly lists myrcene as the dominant terpene. We did not find a second source with a full terpene panel.

Leafly lists Solomon Grundy at 21.5% THC. AllBud gives a range of 21% to 29%, and Leafly reviewers in Florida mention Trulieve batches labeled from the mid 20s into the low 30s.

Theory Wellness, which has sold the strain in Massachusetts, calls it a steady and even high, and Trulieve describes a clear head with a relaxed body.
