Where Icy Treats comes from

Icy Treats is a house strain rather than a seed-bank release. Curaleaf’s Florida menu sells it as Flower by Grassroots, and its Illinois stores list it under both Grassroots and FIND, two Curaleaf brands. Every listing that names parents gives the same cross: Ice Cream Cake and White Runtz. FLUENT, another Florida operator, lists an Icy Treats flower with the same parentage.

None of those pages name a breeder or a release date, and SeedFinder, the breeder database, has no entry for it. If you see a confident origin story for this strain elsewhere, ask where it came from.

The spelling is Icy Treats. It is not the same plant as Ice Cream Runtz, a LIT Farms cross of Ice Cream Cake and Runtz with a similar family tree.

Aroma and flavor

Retailers describe a sharp, savory profile rather than a dessert one, which is a surprise given the parents. Curaleaf’s own page calls it “pungent notes of fir, pepper, and herbs”. The Illinois listings add camphor, the cool, mentholated note that sits somewhere between mint and pine.

We could not find a published terpene panel for the flower, so the dominant terpenes are unknown.

THC and what to expect

There is no published THC range for Icy Treats, only batch labels. The three we found read 23.0% (FIND), 23.1% (Grassroots, Chicago) and 25.9% (Grassroots, Alton, Illinois). Curaleaf’s Florida page says only that potency varies by harvest.

The effects on record are the brand’s own tags, not consumer reviews: energy, mood and focus. That is marketing copy, so treat it as a hint about how the grower positions the strain and nothing more. Effects depend on dose, tolerance and the batch. Our THC calculator turns the label percentage into milligrams if you want to be deliberate about it.

Is Icy Treats sold in NYC dispensaries?

No. Icy Treats was not on any of the 32 licensed menus in our October 2026 count, which fits its history as a Curaleaf house strain in other states.

Both parents are easy to find in the city. Ice Cream Cake was on 11 of 32 menus, at $30 to $50 per eighth with 17% to 31% THC on the labels. White Runtz was on 4 menus, at $32 to $54 per eighth. The full list, with the shops that carry each strain, is in our NYC weed strains database. Menus change daily, so check with the shop before you travel.

Buy only from a licensed shop. Our license checker looks up any store by name, street or ZIP against the state list, the Office of Cannabis Management has its own verification page, and our NYC dispensary directory lists every licensed shop by borough.

Where Icy Treats is sold outside New York

  • Florida: Curaleaf dispensaries, under the Grassroots brand, as whole flower, small buds, ground flower and vape cartridges. FLUENT also lists an Icy Treats flower. Florida is a medical-only market, so you need a state medical card.
  • Illinois: Grassroots and FIND listings at Curaleaf’s Chicago store and at independent shops such as Terrace Cannabis in Alton.
