Where Jealousy comes from
Leafly, Weedmaps and SeedFinder all credit Seed Junky Genetics, a California breeder. The cross is Gelato 41 and Sherbert Bx1, a backcrossed Sunset Sherbert that some menus spell Sherbet or Sherb Bx1. Leafly’s award announcement says The Minntz, a brand run by Cookies and Seed Junky, brought Jealousy to market in 2019, first in Southern California.
It then became a parent in its own right. Permanent Marker, Leafly’s Strain of the Year for 2023, is a Seed Junky cross of Biscotti, Sherb Bx and Jealousy. Pacman (Jealousy x Biscotti) and The Glove (Gary Payton x Jealousy) come from the same line.
Other breeders sell seeds under the name Jealousy, so a seed pack with that label is not necessarily the Seed Junky cut. On a licensed menu, the grower’s description of the lineage is the thing to check.
Aroma and flavor
Leafly’s flavor tags are pepper, plum and apricot, and its reviewers add earthy and funky. Weedmaps describes earthy, diesel and sweet, with gas, pepper, citrus and some berry. The spice is caryophyllene, which Leafly lists as the dominant terpene, followed by limonene and myrcene.
The flower is easy to recognize. Leafly’s award write-up describes buds that run dark purple to nearly black, flecked with bright green.
THC and what to expect
Leafly lists Jealousy at about 25% THC and notes it can test into the high 20s. Weedmaps gives 22% to 30%. On the four NYC menus that carried it, labels ran from 22% to 33%.
Leafly reviewers most often tag it giggly, relaxed and talkative, and Leafly sums it up as mentally relaxed but physically energetic. The commonly reported downsides are anxiety, headache and dry mouth. Those are consumer reports, not predictions, and flower in the high 20s is strong for anyone who does not consume often. Start small and wait. Our THC calculator turns a label percentage into milligrams per serving.
Growing Jealousy
We could not find grow figures published by Seed Junky, and SeedFinder notes the breeder never sold Jealousy as feminized seed. Leafly’s grow notes rate it difficult, with a medium yield and 8 to 9 weeks of flowering. New York allows adults 21 and over to grow a limited number of plants at home; our New York cannabis guide covers the rules.
Where to buy Jealousy in NYC
On Oct 8, 2026 we read the public flower menus of 32 state-licensed dispensaries across the five boroughs. Jealousy was on 4 of them:
- Manhattan: Carnegie Hill Cannabis and Lenox Hill Cannabis Co.
- Brooklyn: Jungle Kingdom Flower Co.
- Queens: Vaporize
The growers on those menus were Dank By Definition, Florist Farms, Fly Weight and Papa’s Herb. Menu prices ran from $25 to $45 per eighth, against a citywide median of $40. Where a grower named the cross, it was Gelato 41 x Sherbet.
The family is better represented than the parent. Permanent Marker was on 15 of 32 menus, tied for the second most stocked strain in the city. Jealousy x Zkittlez was on 2 menus, and KY Jealousy and London Jealousy on 1 each. The live entry, with links to each shop, is under Jealousy in our NYC weed strains database. Menus change daily, so check the shop’s site or call before you travel.
Buy only from a licensed shop. Our license checker looks up any store by name, street or ZIP against the state list, the Office of Cannabis Management has its own verification page, and our NYC dispensary directory lists every licensed shop by borough.
