Coconut Cream Strain: Lineage, THC and Where to Buy It in NYC

Coconut Cream is an indica-leaning hybrid that New York shoppers know as a Nanticoke strain. It tastes like sweet vanilla cream with a gassy finish. Two breeders have used the name; the Nanticoke jars most likely come from Ziplock Seeds’ Coconut Milk x Frosted Flakes cross. On Oct 19, 2026 it was on 11 of the 32 licensed NYC dispensary flower menus we read, at $39 to $40 per eighth with 24% to 34% THC on the labels.

Where Coconut Cream comes from

Coconut Cream has two possible family trees, and the sources do not agree. Ziplock Seeds sells a Coconut Cream in its Frosted Flakes line, bred from its Coconut Milk (Cereal Milk x GMO Jungle Cake) and Frosted Flakes (Cereal Milk x White Truffle). Leafly and Weedmaps instead describe a Perfect Tree cross of LA Kush Cake and Coco Milk, and Weedmaps adds that the name was popularized by the New York brand Nanticoke.

We think the Nanticoke jars are the Ziplock plant. Nanticoke’s own product listings on Weedmaps name Coconut Milk and Frosted Flakes as the parents, a Manhattan shop’s menu describes it the same way, and co-owner Pete Shafer told Cannabis Business Times that the farm buys seeds from Ziplock and runs its own pheno hunts. Nanticoke has not published a strain sheet that settles it, so treat the lineage as likely, not confirmed.

Either way, Coconut Cream is a New York grown flower: every jar in our count came from Nanticoke, grown in a mixed-light greenhouse at the Nanticoke Gardens garden center in Endicott, Broome County. It was Nanticoke’s most stocked strain in the city on Oct 19, 2026, and the data firm Hoodie Analytics ranked the Coconut Cream half ounce as the brand’s second best seller in September 2026.

Aroma, flavor and terpenes

Leafly reviewers describe a light, milky front note and a creamy vanilla and sweet taste, and its flavor tags are vanilla, blue cheese and sweet. Maison Canal’s menu describes sweet vanilla cream, a touch of earthy chocolate and a tangy diesel twist, and Ziplock calls its version creamy and candy-like with a smooth, gassy undertone and a cereal milk note. Midnight Moon’s menu lists caryophyllene, humulene and limonene as its terpenes, which is a shop listing rather than a lab report.

THC and effects

Leafly lists Coconut Cream at about 30% THC. NYC labels on Oct 19, 2026 ran from 24% to 34%: most eighths were 24% to 25%, while the half ounces and ounce were 29% to 30% and the eighths at Vaporize and The Vault were 33% to 34%. Different harvests explain the spread, so read the label on the jar in front of you.

Leafly’s small pool of reviewers, 14 so far with an average of 4.9 out of 5, most often tag it relaxed, uplifted and energetic, and the most reported downside is dry mouth. Reviewers describe a slow head high that eases into body relaxation. Those are consumer reports, not predictions. Our THC calculator turns a label percentage into milligrams per serving.

Is Coconut Cream legal in New York?

Yes, from a state-licensed dispensary to adults 21 and over with ID. It is a New York grown flower from a licensed farm, so the legal place to buy it is a licensed dispensary or licensed delivery service. A Coconut Cream vape or edible in a smoke shop is not the same product.

Check any store on the OCM dispensary verification page or with our license checker. Possession limits, where you can smoke and the tax rules are on our New York cannabis rules at a glance list, and the state’s summary is on the OCM adult-use page.

Coconut Cream in the news

No major outlet has covered Coconut Cream on its own yet. The closest read is Leaf Nation’s “Grow Tour: Locking in Flavor at Ziplock Seeds” (March 2025), a profile of the Oregon breeder behind the Frosted Flakes line that Coconut Cream likely comes from, including the large pheno hunts he runs. For the New York side, Cannabis Business Times’ July 2026 profile of Nanticoke covers the farm that grows it.
