Where Mule Fuel comes from
Mule Fuel was bred by Thug Pug Genetics, the Michigan outfit run by a breeder known as Gromer Juana. According to SeedFinder, he crossed a GMO female with Lurch, an exclusive Thug Pug male selected from Mendo Montage. Leafly and Weedmaps give the same parents, writing the mother as GMO Cookies, which is another name for GMO. SeedFinder says it does not know exactly when the cross was made.
GMO is the garlic-and-fuel strain that runs through many of the savory jars on NYC menus. Thug Pug is better known for Peanut Butter Breath, and Mule Fuel has since been used as a parent by other breeders, including Bodhi Seeds. In New York we found it from three growers: Florist Farms in Cortland County, Claybourne Co. under its Classic Cuts line, and Hurley Grown.
Aroma, flavor and terpenes
Leafly’s flavor tags are tobacco, chemical and ammonia, and AllBud reviewers add diesel, herbal, skunky and spicy. Leafly’s David Downs described a California-grown jar in 2024 as skunk, diesel, lemon and leather, and compared it to blended scotch. Leafly lists myrcene, terpinolene and caryophyllene as its main terpenes, though its description and its data disagree on which one leads.
THC and effects
Leafly lists Mule Fuel at about 29% THC and AllBud at 24% to 31%. NYC labels on Oct 19, 2026 ran from 27% to 36%. The 36% Florist Farms eighth at Kushie in Forest Hills was the highest label in this batch of eight strains, and a Claybourne eighth at FlynnStoned in Chelsea read 34%.
Leafly reviewers, who give it 4.6 out of 5 across about 120 ratings, most often tag it sleepy, relaxed and euphoric, and the most reported downsides are dry mouth, dizziness and dry eyes. Downs recommended it for winding down after dinner. Those are consumer reports, not predictions, and a label in the mid 30s is strong, so start small. Our THC calculator turns a label percentage into milligrams per serving.
